Choir Concert at the Anvil Theatre

Thank you to the friends and family who came along and supported our choir at the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke. The choir was absolutely amazing, and you could have heard a pin drop when they performed ‘Somewhere Only We Know.’ We are so proud of them all and know that the experience will stay with them for a long time to come. Well done, choir!

Easter Raffle

Tickets for the end-of-term Easter Egg Raffle are currently on sale. Tickets are £1.00 for a strip of 5, with many chocolatey delights available for the lucky winners. The final ticket sales will take place before school on Friday morning.

Year 5 Activity Week

We hope that our Year 5 children have enjoyed their Activity Week, whether they have been on the residential trip to Avon Tyrrell in the New Forest or taking part in the exciting week of activities at school. This is a really important opportunity for the children to explore learning beyond the classroom through a range of activities that develop their independence, resilience, and capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team. They have certainly been lucky with the weather, and I’m sure they will have had a fantastic time and created lasting memories.

Change to Food Waste Laws

From 1st April 2025, a new law is being introduced which requires schools and businesses to separate and collect all food waste. Therefore, when we return to school after the Easter holidays, children who have packed lunches will bring home any leftover contents in their lunch boxes as we will be unable to process any waste within school. A positive advantage of this is that it will enable parents to see how much food their child has eaten for lunch.

Safeguarding

Please help us to keep your children as safe as possible by abiding by the beginning and end-of-day times for accessing the school site. In the morning, the gates will be opened at 8:40 am by a member of staff. In the afternoon, classes will be using the school grounds and field until 3:05 pm, so it is really important that we don’t have adults on site before that. The gates will be opened at 3:05 pm, leaving plenty of time for collection at the Year R classes followed by the main classes if necessary. If you need to come into the school office at any time, you are most welcome to do so. Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our children safe.

School uniform does not have to be branded as long as it is in the appropriate colour and style.

Jewellery should not be worn in school. The only exceptions to this are a watch (not a smartwatch) and one pair of small stud earrings. No jewellery is to be worn during P.E. or Games.

We ask that all items of uniform are named to help us return any lost items as quickly as possible.

Warm Weather

As we are beginning to experience some fine weather, please make sure that your child is well covered with sunblock before coming into school. Adults in school will remind children about using sunblock but cannot take responsibility for applying it. Please also ensure that your child has a named water bottle with them every day.
